Mother's Day 2010 is a day that I will never forget! For several years I have enjoyed celebrating my mom and Shelby's mom, but the last few years it was a bitter reminder that I was not a mother. Julia, Georgia's birthmom, is the reason I was able to celebrate Mother's Day today! She called yesterday and we had a great talk. I feel like she's a little sister in a sense, and I love her for the gifts she has given us! GIFTS? Yes, gifts...inexpressible joy & contentment, indescribable love, baby laughs, sweet smiles in the morning, snuggle time in the rocking chair, and the list goes on and one. We love you, Julia!
Shelby's family (his parents, his grandma, and his sister) all came in yesterday to celebrate with us. We all joked that we don't know what we did before Georgia arrived...did we actually TALK to each other?! Haha. Now we just sit around and play with Georgia and watch what she will do next...so much fun and so longly awaited!
Shelby was in Oklahoma last week for work for a couple of days and when he got home on Thursday Georgia crawled to him! Since then she has been taking a few forward movements, but hasn't really taken off yet. Backwards is another story though...last week I was playing on the floor with her and she ended up across the living room and under the dining room table...by going backwards! She's close...it won't be long now!
We had Baby Dedication today at church...Georgia was one of 7 babies dedicated and it was a wonderful time of celebration. Here we are with our pastor, Earl Duggins, after church (Georgia had beautiful socks & white shoes on but when Shelby went to pick her up in the nursery she was asleep and barefoot.)
We think she's cutting more teeth...she's up to 6 now! You can tell by this picture she was not feeling herself...her eyes say it all! After church we had a delicious lunch with my parents, Shelby's family, and my sister Kathy & her family. Here's one more shot of PREGNANT Momma and Georgia!
what a special day!
