Georgia Claire was a bumblebee for her first Halloween. Shelby found the costume at the Carters Store in Southlake and his parents bought it for her. As Shelby says, "It accentuates her fatness!" Ha! It was super cute...the tights even had little mary janes on the feet...no shoes needed! It was a cool Halloween night, but she stayed toasty with all the stuffing around the tummy! =)
As my mom put it, the costume was way too cute to only use once. She said we needed to wash it and save it for our next baby...WILL DO, Grandma!
Profile shot...it even had a stinger (or tail, as Shelby's boss called it! Ha!)...love you, Jimmy!
We got to "Trunk or Treat" at the church and Georgia Claire passed out...she was so tired! She didn't get her long afternoon nap obviously. That girl LOVES to sleep!
She woke up...not too thrilled with the whole thing, though! She was great, as usual...such a trooper!

"Super Caroline" (or "Super Cawowine" as she called herself) was all wrapped up in Paw Paw's jacket (and his arms) towards the end of Trunk-or-Treat.
"Super Kate"...one of the two "Super Sisters"! Army Guy Luke armed with Silly String!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love this little girl?!
Her Daddy feels the same way...can't get enough kisses!
Even Caroline wants to give her cousin kisses! Georgia LOVES her cousins, already!
GranBarry & Mimi also came for a short, but sweet visit. They had been in Canton shopping on Friday and continued driving east until they made it to our home...we always enjoy our visits with them and they always enjoy playing with Georgia.
I can't finish this post without sharing a praise! In my post on Oct. 18th I wrote about some friends of friends whose adoption had been disrupted...on the way to sign the relinquishment papers, the birth parents chose to parent instead. Yesterday, I received a call from my sweet friend Kym and she told me that the couple was going to pick up the baby! After two weeks, the young couple decided they wanted to place their baby with the adoptive couple after all! I feel so connected with them, even though I have never met them. The truth is we are God's adopted children through the blood of Jesus Christ, which makes us brothers and sisters!
Once again, I am reminded of how beautiful adoption is, even though it can be scary and emotional and a roller coaster of a ride! Georgia Claire's birth mother chose to carry her baby, to give her life, and then she chose us to parent her child. What an honor and privilege it is to have this precious gift! She will always know, without a doubt, that her momma & daddy love her, that her birth mom loves her, and most importantly, that her heavenly father loves her!
oh sweet baby! i love the bow UNDER the hoodie! so cute : )
ReplyDeletei have to add- there's nothing better than a baby that loves to sleep!
