Happy 4th of July!

We've had a great weekend! Shelby was out of town Tuesday-Friday so he watched the girls Saturday morning while Kathy & I sweated & shopped at Canton! He is a great daddy and I KNOW the girls loved their one-on-one time with him. I was up at 6 AM and Kathy & I were on the road by 7:15 with money in our pockets, sunglasses on, water in the cooler, and lists a mile long! I was so successful, finding lots of great "junk" for the new house--that truly is one of my favorite things to do. Here are some pictures of some of the junk...

I'm adding turquoise into our living room...it makes me happy! I LOVE this old teacher's desk...I've got the perfect spot picked out in the new house for it! (Oh, and notice the $8 IVY street sign--HAD to buy it!)
Two nightstands...
Dining room buffet...
Old door that will be our headboard (for $30!)...
Old turquoise highchair. I'm going to paint Shelby's old one another color and put them at our island for the girls to sit and play with play dough, color, or snack while I'm cooking...
Yesterday we enjoyed our morning & evening with our church family, and had a LONG nap in between. The girls even cooperated and went to sleep early so Shelby & I could watch a movie we had picked up from Redbox-SCORE! However, they did not get the memo that Shelby had the day off and were awake and ready to play at 7 AM! So, I got up and made some yummy blueberry muffins and we enjoyed our day together.

We actually got ready on time for church yesterday and took a few pictures. Georgia is into these play glasses that used to be sunglasses. I popped the lenses out and she LOVES them. She insisted on wearing them in the picture...funny girl!
It has only taken 11 months, but Ivy Jane is starting to REALLY love her Daddy...she's always loved him, of course, but now she sometimes picks him over me!
"Here Momma, milk! Georgia brush teeth!" The child LOVES to brush her teeth & wash her hands!
So happy to be brushing her teeth...
Our nightly routine is to play in Georgia's room...sweet memories!

I'm so in love with my little family and feeling extremely blessed...not only to be an American but to be a child of God! Our Sunday School literature this month is focusing on spiritual freedom and it is going to be SO good! In Galations 4 Paul tells us that we gain many things when we are adopted into God's family...freedom from sin being a HUGE one! God wants us to be part of His family--period. Not because of what we bring to him but simply because He loves us...He DELIBERATELY brought us into His family! I think about how much we love Georgia Claire, as her parents, and how we have been chosen to raise her. We went through the necessary steps to DELIBERATELY bring her into our family. Not only were we chosen by Julia, but I know we were chosen by God to raise her. And then to be chosen again to carry and raise Ivy Jane. I find myself being "weepy" tonight. The love we have for our girls is nothing in comparison to the love our father has for us. Thank you, God, for our spiritual freedom and for wanting US to be in your family. And THANK YOU for choosing US to raise these precious baby girls. Help me to always be the Momma that Georgia Claire & Ivy Jane need me to be.
